ROCK SPRING, GA - Deana Mae Smith Jones, 84, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, November 14, 2010.

She was a lifelong resident of the North Georgia/Chattanooga Area, a member of Chickamauga Church of Christ and a member of the Red Hat Society. Deana enjoyed the activities of the Dorcus Ladies of the Church of Christ, working in her yard, and ministering to the sick. She was dearly loved by her family and friends. She will be missed greatly.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Lake Jones Sr.; parents, James and Mamie Smith; sister, Joyce Beavers; brother, Howard Smith; son-in-law, James Burney.

Deana is survived by her daughters, Norma "Jeannie" Burney, of Rock Spring, Martha Brock, of Chattanooga, and Joy Kellett (Allen), of LaFayette; sons, Jacob Lake Jones, Jr. (Deborah), of Dalton, and James Alfred Jones (Dianne), of Rock Spring; sisters, Frances Edgeman, of Ringgold and Kathleen Bowman, of Virginia; brother, Billy Eugene Smith (Faye), of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, November 21, 2010, at Chickamauga Church of Christ, with Minister David Wade and Allen Kellett officiating.

The interment will follow at Rock Spring Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday, November 20, 2010, at the funeral home and 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Chickamauga Church of Christ.
