Ridgeley, WV- Elmira Emma (Jones) Allen, 93, of Ridgeley, died Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at the Dawnview Center.
Born November 28, 1921 in Ridgeley, WV, she was the daughter of the late Thomas B. Jones and Blanche Virginia (Broome) Jones Hershberger.
She was also preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Millard Allen; a daughter, Lizbeth Wainwright; her step-father, Cecil L. Hershberger; sisters, Charlotte Logsdon, Margaret V. Baldwin, and Violet Pyle; two brothers, Cecil “Bub” Hershberger and Harold Hershberger; brothers-in-law, Walter Batchelor, Marvin Logsdon, Harley Baldwin, Glen Pyle, and Chuck Bradfield; and, a sister-in-law, Ruth Hershberger.
Mrs. Allen was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek, and the Ladies Auxiliary of V.F.W. Post #6667, Fort Ashby.
Survivors include her son, Steven T. Allen, and wife Linda, Pleasantville, NJ; her daughter, Patricia L. Murray, and husband Ken, Gulf Breeze, FL; sisters, Sally B. Hayes, and husband “Tip,” Patterson Creek, Madge M. Bradfield, Patterson Creek, and Catherine L. Batchelor, Fort Ashby; sister-in-law, Norma Hershberger, Fort Ashby; several grandchildren, great, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Patterson Creek, on Sunday from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM. The funeral service will follow at 3:00 PM in the church, with Rev. Joyce Anderson, officiating.
Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, c/o Mary Beth Merritt, HC 86, Box 46, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.
