Ronald K. Jordan Dec. 1945 - May 2011

One so loved, one so full of grace, one so at Peace There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—a time to give birth and a time to die; a time to mourn and a time to dance. Ecclesiastes 3:1

It is with great sadness I announce the peaceful passing of my loving husband, Ronald K. Jordan, age 65, of Eagle, Idaho. After a valiant, 2 1/2 year battle with brain cancer, he passed into God's eternal heaven. He was at home, being held by his wife Marti, surrounded by family, friends, and much love.

His life's journey was filled with grace, deep faith, a big heart, and his "magic smile". He consistently offered tenderness, love, strength and encouragement to Marti, never once complaining. Ron's only requests were time with Marti, phone calls and visits from family and friends and an occasional outing.

Born in 1945 in Rupert, Idaho, Ron was the eldest of three boys. During his school years, he lived in a variety of states and countries. Most of that time, however, was spent in Nampa, ID.

In 1963 Ron was drafted into the Army and promptly joined the USAF. He was a Vietnam veteran with eight years of military service.

In April of 1964, Ron and Marti were married at the tender ages of eighteen and sixteen. After technical school, Ron worked as a crash and rescue fire chief and cross trained as a munitions specialist. After leaving the Air Force, he worked his way through college majoring in Architectural Engineering. Those skills came to much use later when Ron and Marti built their own home.

Ron was a passionate sportsman; baseball and football played a major role in his life. He played both sports until the age of 45 after which he continued to enjoy both as a spectator.

He was a keen outdoorsman and lover of animals, a master fly fisherman, expert camper, RV'er and an avid golfer. His most memorable tournament was an American Red Cross tournament fund raiser with three friends in which he took 1st place. The Jordan family traveled many places enjoying Scottish sunsets, Mexican siestas, English history and countryside, and just spending family time together at many lakes, rivers, oceans and mountains.

Ron was a legend in the kitchen and a frequent contributor to family and friends' dinners, BBQ's and camp cooking, with his specialty in everything "homemade".

Ron built a career in men's retail management, sales and purchasing. He eventually retired from his own company, Corporate Image, LLC, a men's specialty clothing company. His final three years of work were spent overseeing the tool (a.k.a. men's toy) department at Evans Building Center in Eagle.

Ron was involved with many organizations; he was a Mason with the Masonic Lodge in Boise, a member of the El Korah Shrine, a volunteer with a local flag unit and the American Legion, Post #60 in Cascade, Idaho. In addition, Ron was very active in the community, his church and with many volunteer activities which included a great amount of time given to charity fund raising.

Ron is survived by his life-long love, wife and partner, Marti (Marlene K) Jordan, of Eagle; mother, Patricia L. Jordan, of Pocatello; brothers: Scott (Liz), of Pocatello, and Mike (Julie), of Layton, UT; brothers-in-law: Don (Jan), of FL, Tom (Marge), of IL, Gordon (Ilene) and Chuck, of Wallace, and Steve (Judy), of OR; and many other relatives.

Ron joins his father, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, both sets of grandparents, two brothers-in-law, and best friend, Ken Charles, of Cascade.

Marti extends a gracious thank you to Dr. James Souza, Dr. Thomas C. Manning, Dr. James L Weiss, St. Lukes Hospital, home health, hospice, chaplains, the Bishop Foote Guest House, Elks Rehab Hospital, Customedica Pharmacy, Norco, Wells Fargo Bank WMG (Marti's employer), Evans Building Center, Ron's personal care givers, Shirley Sharp, Debbie Messecar, Lee Charles, family, friends, church family who loved, held, and cared for us and our "girls" unconditionally through this difficult journey. At all times you respected our privacy, faith, spirit, fight, tenacity, dignity and love for each other. We were deeply humbled by the experience.

Please join us in honor of Ron's life June, 23rd, at 10:00am at the Veteran's Cemetery, 10100 N. Horseshoe Bend Road, Boise, Idaho. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 am at the Eagle United Methodist Church, 651 N. Eagle Road., Eagle, Idaho. (208) 939-8108. A luncheon will be provided at the church after the services.

Flowers are graciously declined. Instead, please feel free to make donations, in Ron's honor, to The Bishop Foote Guest House in Boise, a MSTI Patient and Family Support Services home. 'Say not in grief 'he is no more' but live in thankfulness that he was'
