"Letha Mae Clingan, 81, of Punta Gorda, FL, and formerly of Perrysville, died February 8, 1999, at her residence.  She was a nurse's aide at VA Medical Center in Danville, IL.

Born June 16, 1917, in St. Bernice, she was the daughter of Wallace Jordan and Hazel Mae Shuey.  She married Robert Irvin Clingan, June 16, 1935, and he survives.

She was preceded in death by one brother, Wilbur Jordan; and 2 sisters, Evelyn Monce and Barbara Young.

She was employed for many years in the office of Dr. W.A. Johnson in Perrysville and the VA Medical Center in Danville, IL.  She attended Coopers Chapel Church southeast of Covington.

Survivors include one son, Wallace Earl Clingan of Perrysville; 2 brothers, Clyde W. Jordan of Clinton, and David D. Jordan of South Bend; 3 sisters, Marjorie Eller of Port Charlotte, FL, Mary Jo Crane of Clinton, and Opal McCullough of Terre Haute; one granddaughter; one grandson; 3 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shelby Funeral Home in Covington with Randy Paddock officiating.  Burial will be in Walnut Corner Cemetery in Bismarck, IL.  Visitation will be one hour before services.  Memorials may be made to charity of donor's choice."
