PORTSMOUTH - Lillie Leggett Butler Joyner, 90, passed away Wednesday May 25, 2011. She was a native of Ahoskie, N.C., a Baptist and retired from General Electric. Mrs. Joyner was predeceased by her husband, Ellwood J. Joyner and her son, Charles Butler. She is survived by her daughter, Peggy Hannah; four grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; a great-great-grandson; a special friend and sister-in-law, Betty Britt. A graveside funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Portsmouth Humane Society. Loving Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
