Bernice Howard, Maryville, has received word of the death of her brother-in-law, Russell W. Kaufman, McMinnville, Oregon, a former Nodaway County resident. He died Wednesday morning at Merced, Calif. He and his wife, the former Edith Howard, were visiting his cousin, Ralph Kaufman, at the time of his illness.
Born at Maitland, Holt County, Missouri May 27, 1910, he was the son of the late Sanford and Minnie Kaufman. He was formerly employed by the Maryville Montgomery Ward Store.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Wayne Kaufman, Norco, Calif.; a daughter, Mrs. Dave (Judy) Roberts, Huntington Beach, Calif.; two grandchildren, Robert and Christine Kaufman, and a brother, Glen Kaufman, Los Angeles, Calif.
Funeral services will be at McMinnville, Oregon, burial in Willamette National Cemetery, Happy Valley, Clackamas County, Oregon.
