HOPEWELL JUNCTION -
Eileen Cecelia Adams, 95, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1989 and formerly of Riverdale, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.
Born in Brooklyn on March 11, 1917, she was the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Campbell Kavanagh. Following the death of her mother when she was only 2, Eileen was raised by her aunt and uncle, Mary and John Reddington. She was a member of the East Fishkill Seniors.
On February 14, 1940 in New York City, Eileen married Michael Adams who predeceased her on July 18, 1991. She is survived by her children, Brian Adams and wife Clare of Nesconset, NY, Michael Adams and wife Patricia of Farmingville, NY, Eileen Reynolds and husband Ward of Poughkeepsie and John Adams of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Brian Adams, Kevin Adams, Norine Adams, Michael Adams, Jennifer Cassidy, Stephen Frailey and Sarah Cuozzo; her great-grandchildren, Taryn, Michael, Stephanie, Colin, Anthony, Isabella and Abigail; and her great, great-grandchildren, Stephan and Teara. She was predeceased by her brothers, Thomas and Joseph Kavanagh; and her sister, Sarah Watson.
Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 10am-12pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 12:30pm at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
