Fay, 62, passed away from coronary artery disease and a prolonged period of kidney failure.

She was an only child born to Matthew and Alice Kavanagh. In 1950 they moved to Maywood, CA where she attended catholic school for most of her childhood and later graduated from Bell High School in 1962.

In 1961 Fay married Jim Crawford and they shared many good years of marriage together. After their son, Cory was born in 1963 they moved from California to Auburn, WA. Fay was a homemaker but for a short time she worked as an operator for Pacific Northwest Bell to help support her young family along with Jim. In 1965, they moved to University Place, WA and in the same year their daughter, Sherri was born.

In 1987, Fay welcomed her first grandchild, Matthew (Sherri) and later, Megan (Cory) and Christy (Sherri).

In 1991 she met Tom Hopkins, and in February 2004, they were married. When Fay became ill, over the past 6 years with coronary heart disease and then kidney failure in late 2003, the unconditional love and admiration they shared was obvious. While continuing to work full-time, Tom was relentless and tireless in providing Fay with a comfortable home and meaningful life.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Tom of Tacoma; and son, Cory (Jodi) Crawford of Puyallup, daughter, Sherri(Kelly) Bates of Las Vegas, NV and grandchildren, Matt, Megan and Christy.

Fay was cremated, as requested, and a Celebration of Life was held.
