Obituary for Ann Kaye

Ann Marie Feinen Kaye, 78, passed away June 4th, 2015 peacefully in her Florida home with her husband and close family beside her. Born in Dunkirk, N.Y, on October 9th, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Rudolph and Mary Keilen Feinen. Originally a Sheridan resident, she attended the local one room schoolhouse. Subsequently she was a high school graduate of St. Mary’s Class of 1953. She continued her education graduating from Jamestown Nursing School as an LPN. She worked at Brooks Memorial Hospital, and was engaged in private duty jobs.
Ann was active in both her family, and her own fresh fruit and vegetable stands. Her annual K’s Pumpkin Land located on RT. 20 was always a great hit as it led into Halloween. Free doughnuts, cider, and costumed characters were provided for the kids. As a resident of Cassadaga, she was the "Head Duck" at the annual Ducky Derby charity event, and always sold the most tickets. In Florida she was a President for the Elkhearts and a welcomed organizer of their annual charity fashion show. Ann was a member of the Northern Chautauqua Conservation Club, and an active member of T.O.P.S, achieving K.O.P.S status. She enjoyed dancing, boating, and entertaining family and friends. Ann was a generous donor to Sacred Heart and St. John Bosco Churches
Upon retirement Ann and her husband Ed spent summers on Cassadaga Lake and the winter in Port Orange, FL. She is survived by: her husband Edward Kaye; three children: Karen O’Brien Connelly (Richard), Karlene O’Brien Korzenski (Daniel), and Kevin O’Brien; her grandchildren: Justin O’Brien (Fiiance Sarah Gordon) ,Alanna Bohn (Mathew), Keilen Korzenski (Jacob Sam), Sean Korzenski: her step- children: Joseph Kaye, Eileen Williams (Scott), Kristen Stevens (Patrick); her brothers: David Feinen (Mary Lou), Ronald Feinen, and Richard Feinen (Marcia): 7 step-grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; also survived by nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her step- son Edward Kaye Jr and 2 nephews: Michael Feinen and Robert Feinen.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Mrs. Kaye’s memory may be made to the Volusia County Hospice in Port Orange, FL (3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL. 32129/ hovf.org) or the Cassadaga Vol. Fire Dept., P.O. Box 226, Cassadaga, NY, 1718. Calls may be made Friday July 10, 2015 at the LARSON-TIMKO Funeral Home, 20 Central Ave., Fredonia, N.Y. from 4-7 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday July 11, 2015, location and time to be announced.
Friendships and entertaining were Ann's specialties; her generosity and humor brought her countless friendships. The loss of her uncanny early to rise and late to bed and her enthusiasm will be greatly missed. The family acknowledges and thanks Mrs. Kaye’s personal care givers: Martha Tremblay and Dayle for the wonderful care of their mother. Her neighbor and close friend Carol Willet. Dick and all the friends in the “hood” for their love and support over the years. On-line condolences may be made at larsontimkofuneralhome.com. Arrangements by David J. Dengler.
