Julia Boelke, 89, Carrington, formerly of Cathay, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2015 at the Carrington Health Center in Carrington. Her funeral will be held Monday, May 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Federated Church in Carrington with burial in the Lakeview Cemetery of Cathay. Visitation will be held Sunday from 3 pm to 6 pm at the Nelson Funeral Home in Fessenden.

Julia Keller, daughter of Joseph and Rosina (Lesmeister) Keller was born May 5, 1926 at Wellsburg, ND, where she grew up and attended a nearby country school.

On December 28, 1943 she was married to William Mindt. They lived in Goodrich, ND until 1948 when they purchased a farm near Cathay. Following their retirement in 1983, they moved into Cathay. William passed away February 6, 1988.

On September 30, 1990, Julia was married to Harold Boelke. They made their home in Cathay and spent the winter months in Phoenix, AZ from 1990 until 2002. In 2007 they moved to Carrington where she had lived since. Harold passed away on November 19, 2014.

Julia was a member of the United Methodist Church in Cathay until its closure and has been a member of the Federated Church in Carrington since. She was also a member of the Royal Neighbors of America, the Cathay & Carrington Senior Citizens and the Harvey Eagles Club.

She is survived by 3 sons, Dennis (Lorrettax) Mindt of Bismarck, Leon (Penny) Mindt of Beloit, WI and Brian (Julie) Mindt of Valley City; 1 step-daughter, Renee Riedesel of Carrington; 1 step-son, Rodney (Shirley) Boelke of rural Cathay; 6 grandchildren, Lance (Nikki) & Lowell (Tara) Mindt, Shelly Meyer, Lynette (Brett) Rusert, Cole Mindt and Briana (Nathan) Klebe; 8 great-grandchildren, Grant, Garrett & Gavin Mindt, Marrisa Meyer, Claire, Audra, Nadia, & Elena Rusert; 4 step-grandchildren, Ryan (Kara) Riedesel, Erin (Andy) Gray, Toni Larson and Kara Boelke; 11 step-great-grandchildren, Ashley & Taron Sisco, Shaylee Dean, A.J., Wayland, Annika & Tempe Gray, Lana & Will Riedesel, Levi Larson & Lexi Heinrich; and 2 step-great-great-grandchildren, Kington Gutierrez and Jackson Reyes.

Julia was preceded in death by her husbands, William & Harold; her parents; 7 brother; 6 sisters; and step-son-in-law, Pat Riedesel. Nelson Funeral Home.
