Patricia M. "Pat" Idland, 70 of Devils Lake, ND passed away on Sunday evening, March 25, 2012 at Mercy Hospital in the loving care of family and Mercy Hospice.

Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Devils Lake. Fr. Dale Kinzler will celebrate the Mass and burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery at a
later date.

Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary and Scripture Service at 6:30 p.m. Music will be provided by Kevin Regan and Audrey Myklebust. Reading the Scriptures will be Dennis Schwab and Gift Bearers will be grandchildren Kyle and Taylor Idland.

Patricia Margaret, daughter of Joseph and Kathryn (Schwab) Keller was born on February 4, 1942 in Devils Lake. She attended St. Mary's Academy and graduated with the class of 1960. She continued her education at Joseph's School of Hair Design in Fargo.

Pat was married to Thomas W. Lyon from 1963 to 1968 and they made their home in Minneapolis and California. They were the proud parents of Jeff and Cheryl. In 1968, Pat returned to Devils Lake and worked as a receptionist at Lake Region Clinic until 1977.

On July 6, 1977, Pat was united in marriage to Gerald Idland and was blessed with two additional sons, Gerald Idland, Jr. and Shane Idland. They made their home in Maryland for two years and returned to Devils Lake where they have continued to reside.

For 23 years, Pat was employed at Heartland Care Center and for the last nine years before retiring in 2005, she served as the Social Services Director. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, St. Joseph Church and St. Catherine's Circle and former member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Pat spent her life as a loving and caring person. She loved to crochet, bake, clean, visit and spend much of her waking hours doing for others. She was known for her kind spirit and the love of family and friends was always her priority.

Pat is survived by her husband Gerald of Devils Lake; son Jeff Lyon and his wife Lysa of Puyallup, Washington; daughter Cheryl Lyon of Devils Lake; son Gerald Idland Jr. and his wife Deborah of Sartell, Minnesota; twelve grandchildren Rochelle (Justin) Timothy, twins Brodie and Bethany Lyon; Matthew Lyon; Zachary, Alexandra, Kyle and Taylor Idland; Danielle Bennett, Tyler, Crystal and Tiffany Idland; eight great grandchildren Nicole, Jace, Nicole, Carter, Loralie, Lilly and Claire, McKynlea; brother Joseph Keller and his wife Bonnie of Bakersfield, California; sisters and brothers-in-law Judie Idland, Devils Lake, Rick and Robin Idland, Valley City, ND and John and Penny Idland of Bozeman, Montana; several nieces, nephews and their families also survive.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents and son Shane Idland.
