Genevieve "Jeannie" M. Heck, 78, went into the arms of our Heavenly Father September 9, 2012, after a short battle with Alzheimer's, surrounded by family. Genevieve was born January 19, 1934, to Peter and Monica (Richter) Keller in Strasburg, ND. They moved to Bismarck and she attended St. Mary's High School.

She worked at MDU for 10 years. On November 26, 1982, she married the love of her life, Les Heck.

Genevieve enjoyed singing, dancing, music, cooking, playing cards, baking, crocheting, going to church, doing puzzles, sewing, and going for walks. She was an amazing cook and never let anyone leave her home hungry. When playing cards, she was the only one who would never cheat. What she truly loved most was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Family was always the most important to her and always came first. She had a big heart and she would do anything she could to help others. She was always a woman of great faith and had a close relationship with God. She loved to laugh and had an amazing smile that would light up any room and she always wore that beautiful smile for everyone. She will be remembered best for being a loving mother, grandma, and great grandma. She brought love and joy to all who knew her.

Genevieve is survived by her husband, Les Heck; sons, Richard (Marie) Landsberger, Andy (LaRhonda) Landsberger, and Robert (Tammy) Landsberger; daughters, Mary Landsberger, and Brenda Phelps; ten grandchildren, Natasha (Brent) Goetz, Tessa Morast, Bryan Phelps, Brandon Boehm, Ryan Landsberger, Harley Engel, Ariel Landsberger, Alex Landsberger, Hope Landsberger, and Thomas Landsberger; four great-grandchildren, Trysten, Landon, Kaleb, and Kamden; sister, Mary (Dick) Bruce; brothers, Jim(Bonnie) Keller, Willy (Mabel) Keller, sisters- in-law, Choc Keller and Agnes Keller, step-sons, Kevyn (Angie) Heck, Keith(Tammy) Heck; step-daughters, Dawn Heck, Lezlie (Gene) Johnson, six step-grandsons, Mick Johnson, Zack Heck, Luke Heck, Taylor Heck, Nick Heck, and Jake Heck; and step-granddaughter, Maggie Johnson, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Monica Keller; sister, Johanna Fernandez; brothers, George, Andy, and Roger Keller and an infant son.

Gone but never forgotten. Well done good and faithful servant.
