Verna Mae Kelley Bean age 90, of Chickamauga, Georgia passed away Saturday evening – January 31, 2015.
She was born in Winchester, Tennessee to the late William Marks & Mary Jane Parton Kelley. She had lived in the Chickamauga area for the past sixty one years and was a homemaker. She was a member of New Friendship Baptist Church in Chickamauga, GA, where she sang in the choir and quartets and also served as Sunday School Secretary and Church Clerk. She enjoyed singing gospel and country music. She was one of the first patients in Chattanooga to have head surgery in 1944 and survive.
Married Dec.27,1941 in Madison AL.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Johnny William Bean and twelve siblings. She is survived by her children and their spouses: William Franklin (Bonnie) Bean, Kenneth Ray (Sharon) Bean, Rosemary (Ronald) Parrish, Wanda Sue (Connie) Parrish, Darrell Edward Bean, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
