Mrs. Anne L. Kelley Barfield, 82, of 3126 Cedartown Hwy., Rome, GA, passed away Sunday night, September 4, 2011, at a Rome hospital.

Mrs. Barfield was born in Atlanta, on October 8, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Andrew Jackson Kelley and Blanche Marie Kelley. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Jesse C. Barfield, Jr., and a brother, Edward J. Kelley. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Rome.

Mrs. Barfield graduated from Stone Mountain High School and Southern Business University where she met her husband from Tifton, GA. There she raised her family until moving to Rome. She was devoted to her family, always giving more than she received – especially in helping others. She was passionate about her animals.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherron B. Mull, and her husband, Allen, Rome; two sons, Kenneth E. Barfield, and his wife, Lori, Rome, and Phillip A. Barfield, Vidalia; six grandchildren, Logan Mull (Kristine), Juli Mull and her fiance, Jason Lemming, Christopher Barfield and Olivia Barfield, all of Rome, Jessica Barfield (Jason Klein), and Stacie Barfield, all of Vidalia; two great grandchildren, Jackson Mull, Rome, and Brayden Klein, Vidalia; and all of her special friends at the Renaissance Marquis.

Funeral services was held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2011, at the graveside in the East View Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Davies and Dr. Joel Snider officiating.

The family received friends at Daniel's Funeral Home, Rome, on Wednesday from 1 until 1:45 p.m.
