Mittie Kelley was born on Nov 21 1887, in Georgia to Charles H (1865 – _?_) and Rilla (1866 – _?_) Kelley. Mittie was the second of six known children and the first of three daughters born to Charles "Charlie" and Rilla M Kelly.

The 1900 census showed 12 year old Mittie Kelly living with her parents and five siblings. The family lived on a farm in Wolf Pit District 29 of Franklin County, Georgia. Her father Charles was noted to be a farmer and mother Rilla had no designated occupation. Mittie, older brother Oscar, and younger sister May were listed "At School." The other three siblings, age 8, 4 and 1, were too young to have had an occupation designated.

Nineteen year old Mittie Kelley married the twenty two year old George Arther Andrews in 1906. The 1910 census shows that the 21 year old Mittie, her husband George, and their two daughters lived in the Broad River District 0141 of Stephens County, Georgia. Her husband was a Retail Salesman at the time of the census. No occupation was designated for Mittie, or her daughters, three year old Lucile and one and a half year old Gwinelle.

In 1920, the family lived in District 157 in Broad River, Stephens County, Georgia and consisted of Mittie, her husband George (G A), and their three daughters: Lucile, age 13; Gwinelle, age 11; and Laverne, age 9. All members of the household were noted to be able to read and write, and all three daughters had attended school since September of the previous year. George was noted to be a salaried bookkeeper for a cotton buyer. Occupation for Mittie and the children was listed as "None."

In 1930 Mittie and her husband George lived in Broad River District 8 of Stephens County, Georgia. She had no occupation listed and George is listed as a bookkeeper, tax collector.

After the death of her husband of 61 years in 1965, Mittie continued to live in Stephens County until her death. At 90 years of age on Mar 21, 1978, Mittie K Andrews died in Toccoa, Stephens County, Georgia. Mittie Andrews was buried in the Sunshine Cemetery in Franklin County, Georgia, where he husband had been buried after his death in 1965.
