She was born Sept. 5, 1922, in Sheffield, Pa., one of eight children of the late Floyd and Armeda Ecklund Kellogg. In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by all her sisters and brothers, including Violet DeMarco, Hilve Tabone, Evelyn Hansen, and Melvin, Stanley, Gerald and Lee Kellogg.
Helen was a devoted and loving daughter, sister and aunt. She returned to Jamestown in time of special need to care for her nieces, Debbie and Kim Kellogg and nephew, Kerry Kellogg when their mother was stricken with polio. In later years, Helen devoted her life in care of her beloved mother, Armeda. Strong in her faith, Helen devoted time to daily scriptural readings and prayer. Her outgoing, friendly nature and compassion for those in need will long be remembered.
Over the years, Helen worked for the former J.C. Kelso Store, Woolworth's and Big N department stores and retired from the Maddox Table Co. She was a member of First Covenant Church, and had been a resident of Covenant Manor for 25 years. Helen enjoyed her recent residence with the friendly family of Heritage Green.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews, including Kim Rothstein of Lansdale, Pa., Debra Mason of Clearwater, Fla., Kerry Kellogg of Lakewood, Christopher Kellogg of Busti, Jim DeMarco of Buffalo and Caryl Dahlin of Tonawanda.
