Mary Ellen (Kelley) Beaudoin, 87, of No. Main St., died Thursday, June 7, 2007, in Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Newport, Rhode Island. She was the daughter of the late John and Mary Ellen ( Crowley ) Kelley. She was raised in Hinkley, Maine and moved to Springfield, Massachusetts at the age of seventeen. She graduated from Baypath Business College. Mary Ellen worked for the Wall Street Journal and retired in 1986. Mary Ellen volunteered at the Marion Retreat Center and enjoyed gardening, dogs, playing cards, cooking. She enjoyed all of her children. Mary Ellen was predeceased by her former husband Harvey Walter Chapin, and her daughter Virginia L. Taylor in 1998. She is survived by her husband Rene Beaudoin, and her six children, her brother, John Kelley of Salem, Massachusetts; her twelve grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral for Mary Ellen will be held on Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. from the Ryder Funeral Home followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Patrick Church at 11 a.m. with burial in St. Rose Cemetery all in South Hadley. Calling hours will be held on Saturday morning from 8:30 till 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the South Hadley Council on Aging, 45 Dayton St., South Hadley, MA 01075, or Marion Retreat Center, Northampton St., Holyoke, MA 01040 or to a charity of one's choice.
