Romaine Caroline "Mamie" (Kelly) Anderson, 82, of York, died Tuesday morning at Normandie Ridge Nursing Home. She was the wife of George A. Anderson Jr. The couple observed their 59th wedding anniversary Jan. 7.
A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Friday at Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Road, York. Burial will be in Mount Rose Cemetery. There will be no public viewing. The Robert F. Koller Funeral Home Inc., 2000 W. Market St., York, is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Anderson was born Aug. 19, 1918, in York. She was the daughter of the late Howard Percival and Jenny Bell (Kauffman) Kelly.
She assisted with a family-owned business. She was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in West York, a Republican party committeewoman, and a graduate of West York Area High School.
Mrs. Anderson also is survived by a son, George A. Anderson III of Midland, Texas; a daughter, Carolyn Anderson-Grecco of Curwensville; two grandchildren; two great-grandsons; two sisters, Sara Little and Frances Fisher, both of York; and nieces and nephews.
Officiating at the service will be the Rev. Dr. Bradley A. Brown.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Methodist Church, 1030 Carlisle Road, York 17404; or to Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, 66 Big Mount Road, Thomasville 17364.
