Valona was the daughter of J.C. Kelso. She married T.W.D. Orswell. They were the parents of a child who died in infancy.

A woman of amiable character and Christian principles, she bore a trying illness with patience and resignation and has left the fragrance of a beautiful life. A little babe breathed its feeble life away a few days before the mother was summoned to meet it in the better land where disease never comes, nor death breathes its blight.
The happy home has been made desolate by the presence of that messenger who approaches with equal steps the lowly and the great. The stricken ones who mourn their beloved one, find their greatest comfort in the knowledge that in the midst of life and health, she has sought an interest in Christ and now awaits them on the glorified shore.
Funeral sermon to be preached by Rev Whitfield at Pleasant Row School, House Nokomia Township, Sabbath May 10th at half past 10 a.m.
