PIPER CITY - Irene Mathilda Kemnetz, 86, of Greenbrier Care Center, Piper City, died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday (Oct. 5, 2002) at Iroquois Memorial Hospital, Watseka.

Her funeral will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chatsworth, the Rev. Scott Olbert and Lay Pastor Jerry Gentes officiating. Burial will be in Germanville Cemetery, rural Chatsworth. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hager Memorial Home, Chatsworth.

Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.

She was born Feb. 27, 1916, in Germanville Township, a daughter of Frank Antone and Anna Carolina Hornickel Hummel. She married Lloyd D. Kemnetz Sr. on March 31, 1934, in Chatsworth. He died Nov. 23, 2001.

Survivors include three daughters, Mardelle (David) McPherson, Boca Ratan, Fla.; Nancy (William) Varner, Oklahoma City, Okla.; Darla (Jerry) Rogganbuck, Bonfield; two sons, Antone (Phyllis) Kemnetz, Champaign; Lloyd Jr. (Lisa) Kemnetz, Chatsworth; one brother, Gerald Hummel, Chatsworth; 18 grandchildren; three step grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one grandson, Billy Varner Jr.; two sisters, Gladys Laue and Josephine Kalkwar; and two brothers, Vernon Hummel and Kenneth Hummel.

She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Chatsworth.
