KENDRICK, JR., EUGENE BENTLEY Who was the definition of wisdom, humility and faithfulness, went home to be with the Lord on January 16, 2013 after a long battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father Eugene B. Kendrick, his mother Clessie Bosworth Kendrick, a sister Margaret Ganster and grandson Clifton Eugene Clayton. He was born on May 15, 1926. Bentley attended Phillips High School until he enlisted in the United States Army Air Corp in 1945. He was employed at American Cast Iron Pipe Company from April 12, 1944 until April 12, 1988. He also served as a part-time preacher in Cullman County. Bentley was a member of the Gardendale Church of Christ since its inception in 1959. Bentley is survived by Mary Frances Higginbotham Kendrick, a loving and devoted wife of 65 years and 4 children Michael (Donna) Kendrick of Franklin, TN, Nancy (Prince) Clayton of Birmingham, Sally (Dan) Laliberte of Pensacola, FL, and Joel (Diane) Kendrick of Morris and 5 grandchildren, Jeremy Kendrick of Knoxville, TN, Mary Louise Jernigan of Murfreesboro, TN, Emily Cohoon, Old Hickory, TN, Allison Kendrick and Sam Kendrick of Morris and 5 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister Eugenia McIntosh of Boaz and his brother Gary R. (Pete) Kendrick of Calera. Bentley's grandsons and nephews will serve as Pallbearers. Visitation will be at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Thursday evening January 17 from 6 - 8 p.m. Funeral will also be at Ridout's Gardendale Chapel on Friday January 18 at 11:00 a.m., with Bennie Ray Williams officiating. Ridout's Gardendale Chapel directing.
