SWORDS CREEK, Va. Mrs. Emily Ellen Kennedy Bostic, age 67, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010, in an Abingdon, Va., hospital. Born July 1, 1942, in Richlands, Va., she was a daughter of the late George and Trula Robinette Kennedy. A lifelong resident of the area, she was of the Pentecostal faith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Carnie Odell "Dee" Bostic; one son, Anthony Odell Bostic; three brothers, James Anders, George David Kennedy, and Glen Ollie Kennedy; and one sister, Bonnie Sue Kennedy. In her generation, she was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Survivors include two daughters, Dena Anders and husband, Robert and Beverly Burke and husband, Johnny, all of Swords Creek; three sons, Mark Bostic and wife, Robin, Jeff Bostic and wife, Patricia, and Allen Hubbard and wife, Dortha, all of Swords Creek; daughter-in-law, Debbie Bostic of Swords Creek; nine grandchildren, Shawn Bostic and wife, Deanna, Joshua Hubbard and wife, Valerie, Natasha Joyce and husband, Hufford, Aaron Burke, Adam Burke, Kimberly Bostic, Emma Bostic, Savannah Bostic, and James Bostic; five great-grandchildren, Luke Bostic, Chadwick Joyce, Autumn Joyce, Grayson Hubbard, and Makaylee Hubbard also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, Va., with Revs. Barry and Debra Taylor and Rev. Robert Robinson officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers. Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
