MRS. C.H. ALLEN
Mrs. C.H. Allen, a resident of Brockway for almost forty years and a woman highly respected in the community, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Kenneth Rowles, at Detroit, Michigan, on Sunday, May 23, following a long period of ill health.
Mrs. Allen had made her home with her daughter from the beginning of her illness, two years ago. During the past four months she has been a great sufferer but death came quietly on Sunday morning at about 1:30 a.m.
Leona May Keys, daughter of Eli Keys and Freda Hinderliter Keys, was born at Boston, Pa., May 15, 1884. She was united in marriage with Charles Hunter Allen of Brockway in 1904, the marriage being solemnized at Clearfield, Pa.
To this union were born four children, one of whom, little Robert Eugene, died in childhood. Surviving are Mildred, Mrs. Kenneth Rowles, Detroit, Michigan; Rugene, Mrs. Ernest Erickson, Brockway, Pa., and Kenneth Allen, of Baltimore, Md.
Mr. Allen died several years ago.
She is also survived by her twin sister, Mrs. M.B. Rishell, DuBois; Walter Keys, Meadville and James Keys, Honesdale, and four grandchildren.
Mrs. Allen was a devoted and faithful Christian, a member of the Brockway Methodist Church and a woman possessed of many ...(unreadable)...missed by a large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held in the Brockway Methodist church Wednesday afternoon and burial was made in the Morningside cemetery, DuBois.
