W.Va., Dec. 10-Capt. John W. KEYS died tonight at his home in Keyser of old age. He was born in Berkeley county in 1829 and was reared in Hampshire county. He was a conductor on the Baltimore and Ohio railroad during the Civil War, and in 1870 was elected to the West Virginia Legislature from Mineral county. In 1871 he built the KEYS House at Keyser and became one of the best known hotel men in West Virginia. He was a charter member of Davis Lodge of Masons at Keyser. Mr. KEYS is survived by his widow, who was Miss Amanda M. VICKROY, and five children, Mrs. A.P. RITZELL, Mrs. Hattie SPOTTS, Miss Glendora KEYS and Messrs. Harry and Richard KEYS.
