Bessie Killen, 93 of Prosperity, died Monday, June 30, 2014 at the Donnell House.

She was born October 12, 1920 in Sheffield, England the daughter of the late Leonard W. Hague and Hannah Stacey Hague.

Bessie was a homemaker and a member of Avery United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed traveling and loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

On January 26, 1941, she married Bernard O. Killen who died May 2, 2004.

Surviving are three daughters, Kathleen A. Black of Washington, Suzanne (Gerald) Barrow of Washington, Rebecca (Donald) Logue of Prosperity; six grandchildren, Mark Black, Matthew Barrow, Michael Barrow, Kathleen Logue, David Logue, Brian Logue; fourteen great grandchildren.

Deceased are a brother, Cyril Hague; four sisters, Clarice Beecham, Ethel Wagers, Dorothy McKeefrey, Kathleen Selway; a son in law, Frank Black.

Friends will be received Wednesday, July 2, 2014 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Additional visitation will be held Thursday, July 3, 2014 at Avery United Methodist Church, 1100 Gabby Ave, Washington, from 10 to 11:00 a.m. the time of service with Rev. Erik Hoeke officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
