George grew up in Hawthorne, Nevada. He graduated from Mineral County High School in Hawthrone, Nevadain 1948. After high school, he joined the Air Force in 1950 and served for twenty-two years. He served three tours of Vietnam and was the recipient of many awards and medals. He retired in 1972, achieving the rank of Master Sergeant/ E-7.
After his first retirement, he began work for American Protection Service as a security guard at Hueblein Wines/ Canandaigua Winery, he then retired for the second time in 1997 after eighteen years.
George married Charlene in 1955 in Hawthorne, Nevada. They were happily married for sixty years.
George was a life long member of the Madera VFW, post #1981, where served in different positions; Quarter Master, District Commander. He enjoyed gardening, working in the yard, traveling, spending time with his family.
George is survived by his spouse, Charlene of Madera, California; his son, Benny Kinkade; his daughters, Constance Kinkade and Patricia (Richard) Cuellar of Madera, California; his brothers, Jimmy Kinkade of Sacramento, California, Forrest (Diane) Kinkade of Hawthorne, Nevada; his sister, Laura (Harold) Fuller of Fallon, Nevada; his seven grandchildren; and his twelve great grandchildren; and his many nieces and nephews and other relatives.
Graveside Service will be held at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery, 32053 West McCabe Road, Santa Nella, California 95322, Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 12:30pm.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 4pm at VFW Hall #1981, 2026 North Granada Drive, Madera, California 93637
