Mrs. Elizabeth Sheppard Kitchen, 69 years old, died yesterday at a local sanitarium. She was born in Whitehaven, England, and came to Texas in 1870, having resided in San Antonio for the last 24 years. She had won a host of friends in San Antonio, and was lovingly known among then as "Grandma Kitchen." For a long time she was associated with physicians in the city, assisting them in their work and was actively engaged almost up to the time of her death.
Mrs. Kitchens is survived by her husband, Henry Kitchen; four sons, Richard and Henry of San Antonio, William of Houston and George Kitchen of Kansas, and three daughters, Mrs. Jack Raybould of San Antonio, Mrs. W. H. Cowley of Georgetown and Mrs. Bertha Hooley of this city. The funeral will be held at 4 o'clock Sunday afternoon from the residence of her daughter, Mrs. Hooley, 500 Hays street. Burial will be made in City Cemetery No. 3.
