Tsuyako Kitchen passed away peacefully on August 5th in her home in San Antonio, she was 87. She lived a full life. She came to the United States in 1955 with her husband and two children. The family was stationed throughout Europe and the United States. They finally settled in San Antonio in 1964 where her husband retired a few years later. He started his own business which included an Oriental restaurant called TNK on New Braunfels, which she ran for 10 plus years, then retired. She enjoyed her time with children, grandchildren, friends, hobbies and gardening. She was an exceptional gardener; she could grow anything she tried. During this time she developed her art skills by attending classes trying different mediums, but ultimately water colors became her favorite and she painted mainly flowers and animals. She was exceptionally accomplished in cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting and needlepoint. She is survived by her two children Mariena Hilton, James Kitchen; grandchildren, Vida, Robert, Mark, Robin, Douglas; great-grandchildren, Kevin, Michelle, Derek, Brett, Brogan, Milan, Jake, Chloie; and great-great-grandchildren, Alivia and Nolan. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 21st at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
