Funeral services for Mrs. Ira Carr were held Sunday afternoon, December 13, 1970, at the First Baptist Church in Gotebo with Rev. Calvin Eason, pastor, officiating. Era Rosalee Carr was born April 28, 1885 in Hill County, Texas and died December 11, 1970, at Elk View Hospital in Hobart. She came to Gotebo about 30 years ago. She was married to James B. Smith in 1902 and he died in 1918. In 1919, she was married to Ira Carr, who died December 11, 1962.
She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Walter (Edith) Gentry of Gotebo; one son Acil Smith of Oregon; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; three sisters Mrs. Jessie Evatt, Saddle Mtn.; Mrs. Mildred Hoss, Porterville, California; Mrs. Nora Ryan, San Bernardino, California. Pallbearers were Jim Rudd, Glenn Woods, Otis Leiphardt, W.W. McMahan, Wade Venard and George Truitt.
