Daniel was born Oct. 4, 1973, at Tacoma, Wash., and adopted at age two and one half months by George and Joan Slayton Klingler. He grew up in Wenatchee, Wash., until 1977, when the family moved to Moscow, where he attended school.

Dan enjoyed cooking and worked at Pete's Bar and Grill Restaurant in Pullman. He enjoyed the outdoors and what it had to offer, especially the sports of hunting and fishing. He participated in several different school athletic activities. He married Sarah Jackson Bailey on April 6, 2001, at Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.

He was a wonderful husband, father, son and friend. Dan always enjoyed spending time with his children and was a kid at heart.

Dan is survived by his wife, Sarah, of Moscow; three sons, Robert Michael Klingler, of South Dakota, Gavin Michael Bailey and Dakota Edward Bailey of Moscow; three daughters, Johanna Danielle Klingler, Samantha Rose Gallagher and Shaylin Nikole Bailey all of Moscow; his parents, George and Joan Klingler of Moscow; a sister, Sandra Lynn Klingler of Moscow; and numerous aunts and uncles.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 2, at Short's Funeral Chapel. Rev. Matt Goodrich, of Trinity Lutheran Church in Endicott, will officiate.

The family suggests memorials to a favorite youth program.
