Dr. Eugene L. Klingler, Jr., 77, of Chillicothe, died early Sunday morning in his home following an extended illness.
Private funeral services will take place at the convenience of the family in Emlenton, PA. At his request, calling hours will not be observed. Arrangements are under the direction of Haller Funeral Home.
Eugene was born August 7, 1930, in Newark, NJ, to the late Eugene L. and Margaret Elizabeth Daniels Klinger, Sr.
Surviving are his sons and daughter-in-law John P. (Marion) Klingler, of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Thomas P. Klingler, Louisville, KY; grandchildren: Mitchell, David, Zachary and Meghan Klingler; and brothers and sisters-in-law James (Penny) Klingler, of Philadelphia, PA; and George (Judy) Klingler, Ames, IA. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by brothers Richard and John Klingler.
Eugene retired from the Veterans Affairs Medical Center where he practiced medicine in the geriatric field. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving as a Captain from 1962-1964 and the founder and member of the Photographic Arts Group.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to either the American Lung Assoc., 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228; or the American Kidney Fund, 6110 Executive Blvd., Suite 1010, Rockville, MD 20852-9813.
