Diane Marie (Schmoele) Klingler, 52, passed away Saturday, May 9, 2015, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Diane was born on Feb. 2, 1963, in St. Louis, the daughter of Melvin L. Schmoele and Charlene H. (Schmoele) Stewart.
Diane was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Columbia. She became a nurse in 1986. She loved taking care of people and never met a stranger. Diane loved animals.
She had a big heart and will be sadly missed.
Survivors include her mother, Charlene Helen Stewart of Farmington; her two brothers, Dennis Schmoele (Lynne) of Ste. Genevieve and Stephen Schmoele (special friend Julie) of Ste. Genevieve; a grandfather, Charles W. Grose of Chesterfield; one nephew, Brandon Schmoele (Liisa) of McKinleyville, Calif., one great-nephew, Oliver of McKinleyville, Calif.; and one aunt, Janet Laufer (Joseph) of St. Louis. Also surviving are numerous other family members, friends, and of course, her two special dogs, Flap and Abby.
Preceding her in death was her father, Melvin L. Schmoele; her stepfather, Jay Stewart; and her grandmother, Thelma Grose.
Diane’s family would like to thank the University Hospital physicians and nurses and her co-workers at Allergy and Asthma Consultants.
A Memorial Mass was held Tuesday, May 12, at Sacred Heart Church in Columbia.
