She was born to Dentsel and Genevieve (Meyer) Klingler on April 15, 1934 and she was a graduate of Central Catholic High School.
Carol married the love of her life, Richard "Dick" Cherry on October 17, 1953 and together they raised 4 children. Carol was a member of the American Legion Adams Township Post #553, where she was a Past President of the Auxiliary. She loved making ceramics and crafts and golfing. She enjoyed shopping, lunch dates and traveling with her sister, Mary Lou, they were known as "two peas in a pod." Most of all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Klingler and sister-in-law, Joan Klingler.
She is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Dick; children, Guy (Christine) Cherry, Shelly (John) Meador, Rick (Beth) Cherry and Roy (Carrie) Cherry; grandchildren, Brandon (Erika), Karen (Nico), Caitlin, Gabe, Troy (Amanda), Stacey, Alex (Megan) and Cameron; great-grandchildren, Sierra, Mace and Madison; brother, Denny Klingler and sister, Mary Lou (Ed) Scott.
Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home, 1770 S. Reynolds Rd., on Thursday, August 7th from 2-8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be recited at 7 p.m. and an American Legion Auxiliary service will immediately follow. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 8th at St. Clement Church, 3030 Tremainsville Rd., Toledo, OH 43613, at 10 a.m. There will be nothing at the Funeral Home on Friday, we will meet at the Church. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
