Joan K. Coates, 77, died at 12:02 am April 4, 2003, at her daughter's residence in Waynesfield. She was born March 15, 1926, in Allen County to Weldon and Mary Plaugher Klingler, who preceded her in death. On July 2, 1944, she married Charles W. Coates, who survives. Mrs. Coates was a homemaker and had been a cook in the New Hampshire School cafeteria for 10 years. She was a member of the New Hampshire United Methodist Church. She truly loved and served her Lord and Savior; her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and neighbors. Survivors also include a son, Wesley (Kathy) Coates of La-Grange; a daughter, Joyce (Bob) Spencer of Waynesfield; a brother, Donald (Jo) Klingler of Harrod; and five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin.
