Sharon K. Brockman, age 56, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Monday, December 27, 2010. She was born September 11,1954, in New London, daughter of Maynard Knapp and the late Bernice (Bucholtz) Knapp. She married Jerry Brockman November 11, 1978, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hortonville. In 2009, Sharon opened her own business, "Sharon's Bookkeeping," after having held various accounting positions throughout her career.Sharon was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was a loving and dedicated, wife, mother and daughter who will be remembered for her love and concern for others. She was admired for her caring, patient and sensitive nature. She especially enjoyed summers at the family cottage on Anderson Lake and cooking for family and friends. She loved to shop and was always looking for a bargain. She will also be missed by her dog "Buddy."

Sharon is survived by her husband, Jerry; a son: Matthew Brockman, Appleton; two daughters: Becky (Chris) Gibson, Appleton; Amy Brockman (Chris Firgens), Appleton;her father: Maynard Knapp, Hortonville; 2 brothers: Gary Knapp, Greenville; James Knapp, Hortonville; a sister: Debra (Keith) Uhlenbrauck, Suring; a brother-in-law: Lee (Barb) Brockman, Appleton; a sister-in-law: Sharon A. Brockman, Appleton; nephews and nieces.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Knapp, September 29, 2010, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Emory and Marion Brockman.

Services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, with Rev. Kurt Kovanen officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel on Thursday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and at the church on Friday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. A memorial fund has been established.
