MRS. SARAH A. COOK
Mrs. Sarah Ann Cook, a long time resident of Irwin, died at 4:45 o'clock Thursday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Emily M. Patterson, of 612 East Pittsburgh street, this city where she has made her home for the past eight years. Mrs. Cook was born on the Shafton Road near Irwin, September 4, 1864, and was the daughter of the late Levi and Jane Milligan Knappenberger. She and Casper S. Cook were married in 1884 and operated a butcher shop in Fourth street, Irwin. Mr. Cook died in 1905 and Mrs. Cook continued to operate the shop until last year. She was a life long member of the Reformed Church of Irwin. Surviving are the following children: Mrs. Mary E. McCune, of Irwin; Charles S. Cook, Blanchard, Ida.; John A., of Straw Pump; Mrs. Ida Kohl, of Circleville; Dr. J. Lawrence Cook, of Mt. Lebanon; Mrs. Emily M. Patterson, of Greensburg. She is also survived by two sisters, Miss Elizabeth Knappenberger, of Wilkinsburg and Mrs. John McWilliams, of East McKeesport; by six grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and one great grandchild. Friends will be received at the Snyder Chapel 531 Main street, Irwin. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.
