John S. Kondratowicz , 85, of Fairmount died Thursday. Born in Syracuse, he attended Sacred Heart School and Porter School. He retired in 1982 as an electrician for Crucible Specialty Metals after 44 years. He was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of United Steel Workers Union Local 1277. He served with the Civil Conservation Corps.
Survivors: His wife of 63 years, the former Vera M. Marchik; a daughter, Jean Sharpe of Bridgeport; two sisters, Helen Jenks of California and Harriett Flavin of Fairmount; two brothers, Joseph of Fairmount and Edwin of Sandy Creek; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild. Services: 9 a.m. Monday at Giminski-Wysocki Funeral Home and 9:30 a.m. in Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Burial, Sacred Heart Cemetery, Lakeland. Calling hours, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home, 1320 W. Genesee St., Syracuse.
