REGINA LEADER POST:

BAHR--Theresia Bahr (nee Kraus), passed away with her beloved family at her side, on Monday, November 25, 2002 at Sunset Extendicare. Theresia went peacefully, at the age of 67, into the waiting arms of God and the angels, after a brief and courageous battle with cancer. Theresia was the beloved Wife, Mother, Oma, Sister and Friend to all who knew her. Rejoicing in her life is her beloved family, husband of forty-five years, Josef Bahr; her daughters, Christine Wowchuk, Monica Hanson (Doug) and Suzanna McNeil (Gerry Bevin); her sons, Rainer (Shelley) and Gary Bahr. She was a loving and caring grandmother: Michael Wowchuk (Special friend Crystal Fuchs), Jillian, Jeffrey and Kaitlin Hanson, Alexander and Jared McNeil and Darren Bahr. She is also survived by her sisters Magdaline Meier and Maria Kallebach; as well as many nieces, nephews and relatives in Germany. Theresia joins her father, Josef Kraus, mother, Maryanne Kraus (nee Baumgartner), sister Anna Konig, and brother Michael Kraus. Theresia was born on September 20th, 1935 in Karawukowo, Yugoslavia. She married Josef on Feb. 23, 1957 and immigrated to Canada soon after to begin a new life. She had a career as a cook for over twenty-five years and truly enjoyed it. She was the consummate hostess for planning and preparing dinner for any and all special occasions. Reminiscing and being with people was her passion in life and you could never keep her still for long. She was a devoted and dedicated Christian. Her faith and church prayer group meant a great deal to her and gave her a source of strength. Our family would like to take this time to say thank you to all the doctors, nurses and care staff who took such good care of her. Let us all celebrate and remember her as someone who was generous, kind-hearted and a true giver to all. Mom, we will miss your laugh and your smile. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 26, 2002 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, November 27th at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's RC Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street with Rev. L. Folk Celebrant. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a memorial donation can be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, 4420 Albert Street, Regina S4S 6B4, Canadian Cancer Society, 1910 McIntyre Street, Regina S4P 2R3 or the CNIB, 2550 Broad Street, Regina S4P 3Z4. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services. E-mail condolences may be sent to [email protected]
