Lola was born October 7, 1908 in Alma, KS the daughter of William and Pearl Davis Kraus. She spent her childhood in the Alma, KS area. She married John R. Akerstrom and they resided in Topeka until retirement. After retirement they resided in Ozawkie for several years until John's death. Lola returned to Topeka in 1994.

Survivors include her daughter, Karen Senogles, Raleigh, NC; sons, Mick (Liz) Akerstrom, Larry (Karen) Akerstrom, both of Topeka; many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband; children, Shirley Jean, Carolee, Jerry and Bob;grandchild, Brad Akerstrom; brothers, Floyd (Doris) Kraus, Ivan (Dorothy) Kraus; sisters, Vera (Tom) Comfort, Clarice Bomgartner French, and Evelyn Lew.

Lola enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting, sewing and cooking for her church activities.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 6, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m. at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home. Celebration of Lola's 101 years will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery.
