Youngest child of Elizabeth and John Kunze; Lizzie lived in Winona, Minnesota from the time she was a teen until her late twenties.

Graduate of First Normal School (college), class of 1878. This was most likely a one year teacher training course. All of the graduates read essays, Lizzie's was entitled "Self Reliance". In 1882 Lizzie was appointed as a teacher in Winona. Her salary was $40 per month. She taught grade C in Room 5 at Washington Primary School in 1883.

Married Albert Rensselaer "A.R." Bowker in Winona, Minnesota on May 31, 1885. Pastor D. John of the Central M.E. Church performed the ceremony.

Lizzie and A.R. had seven children. The first child was a boy born June 6, 1886 in Winona, then Florence (June 10, 1887 Winona-January 16, 1895 Kokomo, Indiana), Howard, Rockton A (b. 1891 Indiana), Wallace J, Henry G (b. 1897 Illinois) and Albert. There was also a baby, Ernest, who died April 21, 1912 (before his first birthday) in Henry County, Indiana. It is unknown if this was Lizzie and Albert's child.

The family started in Minnesota, moving to Kokomo, Indiana about 1891. Sometime around 1897 they moved again, settling in Chicago, Illinois.

Elizabeth was widowed in December 1907. I surmise that Howard might have been supporting the family as he was the only son working (as a stamp dealer) and not in school in the 1910 Census. The 1920 Census reports that Elizabeth was working as a caretaker in a private household.

By 1930 Elizabeth was living with her son Howard and his family in Oakland, California. In 1935 she was living with her son Albert and his family in Emporia, Kansas. Elizabeth passed away in 1945 in Chicago, perhaps she was living with son Rockton.
