Martha (Kunze) Bowers, 88, of Homestead Village, formerly of Millersville, entered into rest on Thursday, April 17, 2008.

Born June 19, 1919 in Lancaster County, Martha was the daughter of the late Abram H. and Carrie (Hershey) Kunze. She was the wife of the late Millersville Photographer Harold H. Bowers, who died in 1984.

Martha had worked as a secretary at Millersville University until her retirement in 1983.

Martha was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Millersville. She did extensive volunteer work with LGH and was actively involved with Millersville Area Meals on Wheels.

She will be lovingly missed by three children, Harold H., Jr. married to Alletta (Puskar), of Lancaster, David J. married to Judy (Lykens), of Allentown, Jean B. married to Rev. Bruce D. Lyman, of Akron, OH: six grandchildren; one great grandchild and one brother, Alvin H. Kunze, of Lancaster. She was preceded in death by a sister, Esther Freeland.

Funeral Services will be held at the First United Methodist Church of Millersville (The "A-Frame"), 121 N. George Street, Millersville, PA 17551 on Wednesday, April 23, 2008 at 1 PM with Pastor Timothy J. Smith and Pastor James Garner officiating. Interment will be in the Mellinger's Mennonite Cemetery, East Lampeter Twp., PA. The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday between 12 Noon and 1 PM. Kindly omit flowers.
