Born June 10, 1927 in Chicago, IL and passed away May 9, 2012 in Spokane Valley, WA. She worked for the East Valley School District, retiring after 20 years as an Elementary School Librarian. She also worked as a CETA Aide for District 81, secretarial clerk for H.J. Heinz Co. and various substitute teaching jobs before being hired by East Valley School District. Jeanne was a member of East Valley Retired Teachers Assoc., was nominated for East Valley Teacher of the Year, a MS Pushie Grandma and a parent leader of Girl Scouts and Brownies. Preceded in death by her parents Otto and Helen (Hafele) Kunze; brother James Carl Kunze and two grandchildren Andrew Duane and Nicole Lynn. Survived by her husband Delbert E. Bemis; son Duane Lee Bemis (Darilyn); daughters Barbara Jean Mandley (Gregory) and Kristine Kay Dale (Walter); ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. We all believe mom to be a master "story teller". We loved every minute of sitting around the campfire listening to her stories. We also say thanks Mom for all the great food, baked goodies and family time spent around the dining room table. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis Society, 818 E. Sharp, Spokane, WA 99202. A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 12, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Thornhill valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA. Private family graveside at Greenwood Memorial Terrace
