Jacob Kvamme, 69, Barnegat, N.J., died Saturday at the Ireland Corners hotel, Gardiner, after a brief illness. A former chef for the Ireland Corners hotel, he had been visiting Gardiner at the time of his death.
He was a native of Norway, born Sept. 27, 1891. He came to this country many years ago and had most recently been employed by the Barnegat Light inn as their chef.
Mr. Kvamme is survived by two sons, Jacob Jr., Brooklyn, and George, California; two daughters, Miss Muriel Kvamme, and Mrs. Louise Wold, New York City, and a sister Mrs. Ingbord Guagliardi, Brooklyn.
Funeral services were conducted at the Pine Furneral home, Inc. New Paltz, Tuesday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. George VanEmburg, Gardiner Reformed church, officiating. Interment was in the New Paltz cemetery.
