Mr. Laffey was executive vice president of Robinson Thread Co. of Worcester MA. He had lived in Woonsocket RI and Santa Monica CA and spent summers in Hyannis.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Eleanor E. (Podles) Laffey; daughters Sheila A. Laffey of Santa Monica CA, Nancy Jane Mazza of Moore Park CA, and Joan L. Nelson of Hyannis; sisters Ruth Burgess of Pawtucket and Catherine Kirchgesler of Oregon; and two grandchildren.
A Mass was held at St. Mary's Church in Uxbridge MA, with burial following in St. Mary's Cemetery in Uxbridge.
