Berniece Lucille Brown, 82, died Monday, July 26, 2010, at Heritage Manor Stratmore Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Shreveport, La.
She was born Sept. 28, 1927, in Marion, to John and Martha Ladner Lais.
On April 5, 1948, she married Virgil E. Brown in Durham. He died May 4, 2009. She also was preceded in death by an infant son and a sister, Doris Dabbs.
A former resident of Finney County, where she was a homemaker, she had resided in Shreveport since 2004.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry Brown of Chattanooga, Tenn., and Jay D. Brown of Los Angeles; a brother, Harlan Lais of Dodge City; and two grandchildren.
Funeral was at Garnand Funeral Home in Garden City. Burial was at Valley View Cemetery in Garden City.
