Judith Eileen Barnicle







Judith Eileen Barnicle of St. James passed away Tuesday May 27, 2008 in Charlestown, Indiana. She was 63 years and 4 months of age.

Judith Barnicle was born January 27, 1945 in Waynesville, Mo., the daughter of the late Thomas and Lula Mae Smith Lamar.

She married Paul Barnicle on June 11, 1966 in St. James, Missouri. She came to accept Christ as her savior and was baptized as a teen at Manchester Heights Baptist Church. Judy was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in St. James where she sang in the choir, served as librarian for many years and taught Preschoolers in Sunday School for many years. Many people remember her for the beautiful solos she sang at church and many other functions. She had a day care at her home and was a second "mom" to many, many children in St. James. They often came back and visited after they were grown. She liked to go camping, loved to sing and enjoyed doing needlework. In later life, she worked at WalMart for about 13 years.

Judith Barnicle is survived by one son: Jeffrey Paul Barnicle and Crystal Conaway of Steelville. Daughter: Rebecca Sue Hodges and David Matthews of Charlestown, Indiana. Sisters: Ann Williams and husband Maurice of Fenton, Mo.; Betty Miller and husband Tom of Edgar Springs,Mo., Carol Taylor of St. James, Mo., Linda Milton of Columbia, Mo., Nancy Macormic and husband Don of Rolla,Mo., Sandra Trout and husband David of Jefferson City, Mo., and Sharon West of Salem, Mo. Along with 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

Judith was a member of the First Baptist Church in St. James. She loved her family and spent many years baby setting children.

Services
Judith Barnicle was in state 6-8 pm Thursday May 29, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.

Funeral Service were conducted 2:00 pm Friday May 30, 2008 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Pastor Jerry Baumann. Music will be provided by Stephen Brubaker and Janet Ashley. Pallbears will be Tom Miller, Don Macormic, Charles West, Samuel Hodge, Tylor Barnicle and Maurice Williams. Burial was in the family plot at the Goodall Cemetery near Jerome. Memorial may be given to the American Cancer Society.

All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James.
