The amiable consort of Mr. William Langdon

The dart of death doth strike a dreadful blow,
Can raise the soul, but sinks the body low;
To mortals then I bid my last adieu,
And ask no more the rising sun to view.

Lo here my dust must slumber in the ground,
Till the last joyful trumpets sound;
Then burst the silent grave in sweet surprise,
And in my dear Saviour's image rise.
