Brunswick, Me., Sept 24 — Woodbury Fogg Langdon of Plymouth, owner of a handsome estate on Asquam Lake in New Hampshire proposes to convey the property to the President and Trustees of Bowdoin College as a memorial of his own regard and that of his dead brother, John C. Langdon, for a college, the property being presented with the expressed wish that it be held for the use of the Faculty of Bowdoin.

Mr. Langdon was a graduate of Bowdoin in the Class of '33, and his brother John G. graduated in 1857. This summer at the invitation of Mr. Langdon, President William DeWitt Hyde of Bowdoin, visited the place and was much pleased with it. At that time Mr. Langdon outlined his plan to President Hyde.
The Langdon estate is one of about forty acres, situated on the slope of a fine view of the lake which at this point forms a deep cove. The buildings on it consist of a large cottage, farmhouse and camp. It is reached by Alton Bay by rail, thence across Lake Winnipesaukee to The Weirs, then to Ashland from which the remainder of the trip is made over the road.

Mr. Langdon's family consists of his wife and sister, while his brother is survived by a son who is an architect in Boston. When Mr. Langdon conveys the property to Bowdoin he will do it with the condition that his family shall have the occupancy of the place during their lives. Mr. Langdon is a grand nephew of John Langdon, a former Governor of New Hampshire.
