Eleanor Louise Lankford Alford, 74, of Pittsfield, Mass., departed this life on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, in Berkshire Medical Center, Pittsfield. She was born Aug. 22, 1940, in Elizabeth, a daughter of the late William Henry and Ethel Josephine Ford Lankford. She was also preceded in death by siblings, Eva Marie Davison, Ethel Marie Batch, Anna E. Lankford and Lena Carson. She was a housewife and provided seamstress services from her home. Surviving are her son, Mark (Dorothy) Alford, of Pittsfield, Mass.; two stepsons, Rufus Alford Jr. (Vivian Courtney), of Washington, D.C., and Tyrone (Anissa) Alford, of Bowie, Md.; nine grandchildren; brother, Nathan (Audrey) Lankford, of Elizabeth; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives; and many friends. Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, 2015, at the Allen Chapel AME Church, 606 Fifth Ave., Elizabeth, where funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015, with the Rev. Marilyn Fisher officiating. Interment will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth. Local arrangements by the ROBERT A. WATERS FUNERAL HOME INC., Clairton.
