Viola M. Allen, 89, of Jacksonville, formerly of Springfield and Quincy, died at 12:12 a.m. Friday at Barton W. Stone Christian Home, Jacksonville.
She was born Aug. 28, 1902, in Scott County, the daughter of Ewing and Sarah Susan Smith Lankford. She married John F. Allen in 1920; he died in 1977. Also preceding her in death was one son, Harry E., in 1978.
Mrs. Allen was a member of First Christian Church. She was a former member of a King's Daughters circle and Mary Merchant's Circle.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wanda Gibson; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Meacham.
Services at Staab Funeral Home. Burial in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
